The United States of ...

Happy Fourth of July!

The landscape of the United States is one of the most varied among those of the world's nations. A vast, diverse country, the U.S. can be looked at from various perspectives:

• the eastern part of the country boasts many attractions, including New Jersey Transit, The New York Times, the Rhode Island School of Design and Flying Fish Beer;
• the five Great Lakes are located in the north-central portion of the country, forming part of the border with the economic equivalents of Finland, Taiwan and Australia;
• movies like Scarface, Deliverance and My Cousin Vinny were set in the southeast;
• and west of the Appalachians, you'll find delicious foods such as chili, pizza, fry bread, green Jell-O and loose meat sandwiches.
